Little Did He Know

Little did he know, that when he was ripping packs of cards that contained Grant Hill RC's, that one day he would become more apart of the card industry than ever...As a buyer, as a blogger, as a builder, as a seller as a reader...as a friend.

Little did he know that some of the cards would evolve into relics, autographs, parallels and sp's.

Little did he know that he would be a 27 year old man watching a pretty entertaining Chris Olds do various editions of Box Busters.

Little did he know that most of the cards he obtained as a child would one day be deemed as "junk" and that their monetary value would plummet into the carding abyss.

Little did he know, that when he would one day think about the card industry, he would think about things like Night Owl Cards , Play At The Plate , The Chronicles of Fuji , $30 a week habit , Shoebox Legends , The Diamond King and of course Dime Boxes -- The Low-End Baseball Card Collectors Journey just to name a few.

Little did he know, that after his youth collecting days were up, he would go on to do many different things and was ultimately defeated by his budding alcoholism and erratic behavior while under the influence.

Little did he know, that all it would take to appease his restless mind was sobriety and the hobby of card collecting.

Little did he know, that there would be a whole bunch of other adults that would share his passion and that his collection would grow beautifully and slow, almost like a maple tree.

Little did he know, that he would become so inspired that he would start his own blog, called The Card Raven.

Little do I know, where my cardboard adventures will take me, and little do I want to know : )

Back Story

My oldest son is a cancer and stroke survivor. He was treated by Vermont's Children's Hosipital and we couldn't have asked for a better outcome. The nurses, doctor's and staff showed the utmost caliber of professionalism. Their dedicated team was crucial to our son's recovery and survival. He has remained cancer free for over two years now.

Stemming from a 10 year bout with alcoholism, I am proud to say that I am now alcohol free for 4 years running!

And back in school and enrolled at Penn State's College of Information Sciences & Technology through World Campus

Sports...  I am a huge METS fan!

Mycology... I enjoy growing Shiitake mushrooms and take photographs of fungi in the wild. Some of my pictures can be viewed here on G+ in the albums section.

Picture Taking...I don't call myself a photographer because that would be insulting to real photographers. Actually, I just like taking pictures of scenery and various other things.

Along with that I also enjoy being outside tinkering around, fishing, landscaping, and spending time with my wife and kids.
