Wright On February

I had initially meant for this "Write On" series to be weekly, but those plans have went the way of many other plans I've had for this blog. It's not that I don't want to keep up with the blog , it's simply that I'm invested in several other online avenues - combine with school, two kids and a wife and that is how the clock runs around these parts.

I've known a few collectors that would scoff at the very idea of a blog, but that doesn't mean they enjoy the hobby any less. That's why I try and not beat myself up about not writing so much.

I'm not all that creative when it comes to writing about cardboard either. I'm more of a show/tell/opinion type of guy.

I did get a package in the mail recently so I am going to enjoy writing about that. The trade show-and-tells might get a little mundane and overdone around the blogosphere, but they are really fun to cover from a writing stance.

At least in my view anyways.

The above David Wright is nice little gold piece from the previous year's Update Series and I am a gold seeker when it comes to cardboard - for those who didn't know that.

One of my first priorities is acquiring the entire 1993 Topps Baseball Set in Gold.

Yes, I am trying to get each of the 825 gold parallels in that set. It's not going to be easy, no matter how cheap the cards are. This is Topps largest set ever and will take a long time on my current budget, but we'll get there.

We will get there.

  1. Sounds like a great idea, Michael! I'll keep an eye out for some '93 Golds to send your way.

Back Story

My oldest son is a cancer and stroke survivor. He was treated by Vermont's Children's Hosipital and we couldn't have asked for a better outcome. The nurses, doctor's and staff showed the utmost caliber of professionalism. Their dedicated team was crucial to our son's recovery and survival. He has remained cancer free for over two years now.

Stemming from a 10 year bout with alcoholism, I am proud to say that I am now alcohol free for 4 years running!
